Cholecystitis is a disease characterized by inflammation of the gallbladder. Distinguish cholecystitis acute and cholecystitis chronic. In either of these two types of disease, inflammation of the gallbladder is observed. However, the causes of cholecystitis can be different.
In chronic cholecystitis, the cause of inflammation is usually stones in the gallbladder. Acute cholecystitis can be triggered by an infection that has got into the gallbladder through the blood, lymph and even from the intestine.
How are stones in the gallbladder formed
Our liver produces bile constantly. When the body does not need produced bile (i.e. when there is no need to process the incoming food), it is stored in the gallbladder. As soon as the body needs a new portion of bile, it ejects from the gallbladder.
However, if such a signal does not enter a long time (for example, when fatty foods are not used for a long time), then the natural outflow of bile from the gallbladder is disturbed, which can lead to The precipitation of bile salts. Gradually, stones form from this sediment, and gallstone disease develops.
Causes of cholecystitis and gallstones
1) Disturbance of nutrition, namely the abuse of foods with a high content of animal fats.
2) Violation of the drinking regime, when an insufficient amount of liquid is consumed.
The first and second factors lead to an increase in the concentration of bile acids in bile, which, as discussed above, can lead to precipitation of salts to form stones.
3) Nervous emotional state.
Emotional state affects the condition of the gastrointestinal tract, which can also disrupt the flow of bile and give rise to inflammation and the formation of stones.
Sometimes gallstones can reach a size of 1.5-2 cm. Moreover, the width of the bile duct only 0.5 cm, the stones can completely clog it. The impact of stones on the walls of the gallbladder or bile duct causes acute pain.

Symptoms of cholecystitis
1) Heaviness in the right upper quadrant, sharp pain in the right upper quadrant discomfort in this area.
2) Nausea, vomiting.
3) Weakness, increase in temperature.
With all of the above symptoms of cholecystitis, you need to call a doctor, who will conclude that the symptoms are observed. Not always, the above symptoms indicate an attack of cholecystitis or of cholelithiasis. Often, the same symptoms can be a consequence of inflammatory processes in the liver. Therefore, to determine the presence of stones in the gallbladder, it is necessary to perform ultrasound (ultrasound).
How to avoid cholecystitis
Since cholecystitis in 90% of cases is associated with the formation of stones in the gallbladder, in order to avoid it, it is enough to do only 4 actions:
1) It is necessary to eat regularly.
In this case, the outflow of bile from the gallbladder will be constant, which will not lead to an increase in the concentration of bile acids and the formation of stones.
It must be remembered that it is the morning of the maximum concentration of bile in the gallbladder due to the lack of its expenditure at night. Therefore, be very attentive to the first meal – breakfast. It is mandatory, if possible before.
2) It is necessary to include a small amount of vegetable fats in the daily diet.
It is the fats that contribute to the flow of bile accumulated in the gallbladder.
3) It is necessary to develop resistance to stress in order not to succumb to negative emotions.
Negative emotions, as a negative effect on the gastrointestinal tract, and therefore, on the outflow of bile, should be maximally eliminated from life.
4) It is necessary to conduct regular ultrasound examinations (ultrasound) of the gallbladder.
Ultrasound (ultrasound) is the only medical study that can give an accurate answer about the presence or absence of gallstones. Therefore, this procedure should become regular.
Attacks of cholecystitis are extremely painful in nature. Therefore, if there is a possibility and a way to prevent them, then it is necessary to do this. Only take care of this in advance, in order to eliminate as much as possible all causes of gallstone disease.Tags: Cholecystitis
