You may find it difficult to exercise outside, particularly when it’s too cold or hot but if you have erectile dysfunction (ED), this is one of the best forms of exercise for you. There is nothing like the fresh out-of-doors experience that is by superior to exercising in a gym where you are completely closed off from nature. Exercising outside anytime of year is a good way to keep your weight in check and keep your libido healthy.
ED and Morale
If part of your ED issue is psychological, outdoor exercise can be extremely helpful. Researchers have found that the first 5 minutes of outside activity not only increases self-esteem but also enhances mood. Interestingly, most people are attracted to the out-of-doors because of the beautiful scenery, fresh air, snow landscape (winter in the North), beautiful green grassy areas (summer) and leaves changing colors (in fall). There’s nothing more than nature making you feel alive. This provides for a great sense of freedom that no gym can ever support. And, you have a wide option of exercises that you can do which includes jogging, walking, bicycling, skiing, water sports, golfing and horse back riding if you like that. All of these exercises can be done with friends which give support and encouragement to exercise on a regular basis.
ED and Hormones
Scientific research done on outdoor exercise activities have found that the release of endorphins is much higher when individuals exercise outside versus in the gym. They also found that group out-of-doors exercises increased endorphins even more. And, you known it has to be more fun walking or jogging along a park or neighborhood area than running on a treadmill or riding on a stationary bike. If you think about it, running or walking outside is more beneficial from a physiological point of view. Think of it, a tread mill is for the most part straight and has bounce although you can place it on an incline. However, outside walking or jogging involve more body motions to keep you stable in gravity. You have ups and downs, unlevel ground and many turns to make to follow the path.
ED, Weight and Sunshine
No matter what time of year, there’s usually some sunshine. Many people today don’t get enough sunshine either because they work in an office all day or they put on sunscreen lotions and block the sun from their skin. It’s important to have some exposure to UV light because it converts cholesterol into vitamin D. Research has demonstrated that people with certain types of cancer have low amounts of vitamin D. So, these individuals are supplemented. Previously, the FDA and medical community had underestimated the importance of vitamin D and set the RDA too low. Moreover, sunshine increases libido and that has to help with ED. Given that you have an increase in endorphins and have a bit of a high which makes you feel great, this should help you to lose weight or at least maintain the weight you have. Nevertheless, exercising outside can improve your libido and help to keep you trim while you are enjoying what you are doing.
