It’s easy to get stuck in a rut when you’re working so hard to reach goals. You know you’re working hard but feel as though nothing’s changing. All of a sudden you’re going up and down with your emotions and feeling all out of whack. When you overthink it the reverse happens and you almost sabotage yourself more.
Be open to thinking about your happiness in new ways. Don’t assume there’s one answer or path to achieving your goals. Consider allowing yourself to step back and analyze where you’re at and where you’re heading. See a new way to think about your health.
You must have patience when you’re working to towards goals. Change isn’t going to happen overnight. This is especially true with weight loss. Stick to your routine, relax and let your body do its job. Getting frustrated with the pace at which you’re achieving better health causes stress and friction, which delays your progress. Stop looking at the scale and go by how you feel. Watch what you eat and drink closely and monitor your workouts. Whatever you do, don’t give up.
It’s Not All or Nothing
Avoid looking at route to success in terms of black and white. You may struggle in one area of your life and be doing great in another. It’s called life and it’s not perfect. For example, if you’re having trouble stopping smoking and can’t go cold turkey, try vaping. Save money by using cheap e juice and not having to buy cigarettes anymore. While you didn’t totally stop smoking, you took a step in the right direction. These baby steps are important and it takes a lot of small changes to add up to achieving your goal.
Pay Attention to your Thoughts
A lot of how we act and what we do comes from our thought patterns. Recognize how you think and if you’re putting yourself down or lifting yourself up. Positive thoughts will boost your morale and help you achieve your goals. Negative thinking halts your progress and makes you feel bad about yourself. Get your mind right and the rest will follow. Do yoga or meditate to help control and slow your thoughts. What’s in your head has a lot to do with what’s going on in your body.
Way of Life
Stop using words that are limiting you in your journey. Create a way of life for yourself and refrain from thinking about it in terms of stop and go. Tell yourself you’re building skills that are going to help you live a successful lifestyle. This way it becomes a constant for you and you don’t have to think about it as much. Tell yourself it’s how you’re always going to live, instead of taking days on and off.
The feelings of achievement when you succeed at something are wonderful. Do not underestimate the power of achieving smaller goals to motivate you to reach your ultimate goal. As long as you take steps in the right direction, you will reach your goal.
